Iraqi Parliament Speaker Denounces US-Saudi Attack on Popular Mobilization Forces

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Hiba Al-Halbusi, has issued a strong condemnation of the aggression carried out against the headquarters of Iraqi security forces. This attack resulted in casualties, including martyrs and injured individuals, and was described as an unacceptable violation of Iraq’s sovereignty and an affront to the security, stability, and governmental institutions tasked with safeguarding the nation.
Al-Halbusi emphasized that Iraq’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are red lines that cannot be encroached upon. He stated that respect for international law and the UN Charter necessitates refraining from any military actions that violate a country’s sovereignty or threaten its security and stability.
The Speaker urged the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Ali Al-Zaidi, to conduct a comprehensive and transparent investigation into the aggression. He also called for the implementation of all diplomatic and legal measures to protect Iraq’s rights and sovereignty.
Furthermore, Al-Halbusi instructed Al-Zaidi to identify the parties responsible for any hostile actions originating from Iraqi territory against neighboring countries. He stressed the need for these perpetrators to be held accountable in accordance with the provisions of the Iraqi constitution, which prohibits the use of Iraqi land as a base or conduit for aggression against any nation and forbids its use as a launching point for actions that jeopardize the security and stability of neighboring states.
Al-Halbusi reiterated the importance of keeping Iraq neutral in regional and international conflicts, warning against its involvement in wars. He declared that Iraq’s supreme national interest dictates that it should be a zone of stability, dialogue, and cooperation, rather than a theater for settling scores or exchanging military messages.
In conclusion, the Speaker offered condolences to the families of the martyrs and wished a swift recovery for the injured. He prayed for the protection of Iraq and its people, seeking divine blessings for lasting security and stability in the country.
