US Central Command Claims Control Over Strait of Hormuz Shipping

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, CENTCOM released a statement on Wednesday, disregarding international law and Iran’s sovereign rights concerning the strategic Strait of Hormuz, asserting it is an international waterway.

The statement from the U.S. military command made no mention of Iran’s complete security provision for the strait prior to alleged U.S. aggression and regional destabilization. CENTCOM claimed that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps lacks any authority to designate specific shipping lanes within the strait.

CENTCOM further alleged that commercial vessels continue to transit the Strait of Hormuz under the protection of American forces. The command stated that since early May, approximately one thousand vessels carrying 500 million barrels of crude oil have passed through this waterway with CENTCOM’s support.
