Iraq Demands Evidence for Claims of Attacks Originating from Its Territory

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani of Iraq has called for the presentation of evidence supporting allegations that attacks are originating from Iraqi soil, following a reported US-Saudi aggression against the nation. The Iraqi presidency has also condemned recent strikes on Hashed al-Shaabi positions.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, based on data published by Mehr News Agency, citing Lebanon 24, Ali Faleh Al-Sudani, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister of Iraq, stated in response to a US-Saudi aggression against his country: “We demand the presentation of evidence and documentation regarding the claim that attacks are originating from Iraqi territory.”

According to the report, the Iraqi Prime Minister said in this regard: “The Saudi-American aggression has disrupted efforts to investigate what has been raised about targeting Saudi Arabia.”

It is noteworthy that the Presidency of Iraq, in a statement, condemned the attack on Hashed al-Shaabi headquarters in several regions of Iraq, which led to the martyrdom and injury of a number of the organization’s forces. The presidency considered it an unacceptable aggression and a clear violation of Iraq’s sovereignty and targeting of its official security institutions, which contradicts the principles of international law and the UN Charter.
