US Interceptor Missile Stockpile Critically Low, With Only 8 Patriot Missiles Remaining

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, based on data published by the Mehr News Agency and cited by Al Mayadeen, the American think tank Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) has announced that the U.S. Army’s stockpile of “Patriot” interceptor missiles has fallen from 2,330 to a mere 8 missiles.

The latest report from the Center for Strategic and International Studies also indicates that the stockpile of interceptor missiles for the “Thaad” system has decreased from 452 to 278 missiles.

The American think tank emphasized that rebuilding the Thaad system’s interceptor missile reserves will require several years.

Further in the report, the Center for Strategic and International Studies stated that the reduction in missile reserves compels Washington and its partners to take risks when deciding on missile interceptions.

This American institution warned that the depletion of interceptor missile stocks, in the absence of alternatives to Patriot and Thaad, heightens risks for Washington and its allies.
