Iraqi Authorities Report Nearly 3 Million Arbaeen Pilgrims Entered Country

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iraqi security and service bodies have escalated their specialized programs at borders and main transit routes to ensure the highest level of facilitation and security for pilgrims participating in the Arbaeen Hosseini ceremony. This surge in pilgrims marks an unprecedented increase, prompting enhanced operational readiness.

The Arbaeen Command and Control Center, affiliated with Iraq’s Security Information Unit, announced that the number of pilgrims entering the country reached 2,887,305 as of last night. The center continues to implement specialized security and service plans for Arbaeen in coordination with all security and service agencies, as well as support organizations. These efforts are under the direct supervision of the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, aimed at securing the movement of incoming pilgrims and ensuring maximum facilitation at border terminals and key arteries.

Updated statistics indicate that since the beginning of the month of Muharram until last night, the total number of pilgrims arriving in Iraq from various countries to commemorate the Arbaeen Hosseini (AS) ceremony has reached 2,887,305. The arrival of pilgrims is ongoing.

The center emphasized that security units and support organizations, under the oversight and follow-up of the Supreme Committee for Million-Scale Ceremonies, are continuing their field duties according to established plans. Measures for organization and services have also been strengthened to accommodate the continuously increasing number of pilgrims, aiming to provide a safe, stable, and smooth environment for their transit throughout the pilgrimage period.
