Massive Explosions Rock Southern Lebanon Amid Alleged Israeli Ceasefire Violations

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, local sources in Lebanon have reported extremely powerful explosions occurring in the southern part of the country. The blasts took place in the Al-Bofour region and its surroundings, near Shqif Castle. Reports indicate that the Israeli army has detonated underground infrastructure in this area.

The Israeli military stated that its forces identified and destroyed a network of underground tunnels in the Al-Bofour Heights area. In a joint statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli War Minister Yoav Gallant claimed that the Israeli army demolished tunnels beneath Shqif Castle in southern Lebanon.

Netanyahu and Gallant asserted that the tunnel explosions at Shqif Castle were in response to what they described as a ‘ceasefire violation by Hezbollah’ on the previous day. Despite the signing of a framework agreement on June 26, 2026, between Lebanon and Israel, mediated by the United States, aimed at de-escalation and facilitating the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territory, Israeli attacks and occupation in parts of southern Lebanon continue.
