Hamas Official: No Concessions Made to Israel, Gaza Residents’ Safety is Priority

A senior Hamas official stated that the movement has not conceded any ground to the Israeli regime regarding a recent proposal for the Gaza Strip, emphasizing that the safety of Gaza’s residents remains their top priority.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Ghazi Hamad, a member of the Hamas negotiation delegation, affirmed that the Israeli regime has not agreed to the latest proposal concerning the Gaza Strip. Speaking to Al-Araby television channel, Hamad stressed that the occupying regime must adhere to the outcomes of the Sharm El Sheikh meeting before any action commences.

He further indicated that consultations were held with Palestinian factions regarding the review of the recent offer. Hamad acknowledged that the agreement is difficult but highlighted that rescuing the residents of the Gaza Strip is paramount. The senior Hamas figure clarified discussions regarding the storage of heavy weaponry with a national committee in exchange for certain conditions. He stipulated that the plan for storing weapons would only be implemented if Israel withdraws and fulfills its commitments.

Hamad insisted that a timetable for the occupying regime’s withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and the implementation of the agreement must be established. He noted that the resistance’s weaponry would not be handed over to the occupying regime, and its storage would only proceed with the accompaniment of the national committee. The Hamas negotiator concluded by stating that they have not granted any concessions to the occupying regime, but rather have strived for the interests of their people in the Gaza Strip.
