US Official Repeats Claims on Iran’s Nuclear Program, Missile Capabilities

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, speaking with Fox News, repeated Washington’s claims concerning Iran‘s nuclear program. He asserted that the threat posed by Iran’s nuclear program is unacceptable, without acknowledging the nuclear arsenal of the Zionist regime in the region, which poses a threat to the world.

Rubio further claimed that Iran is pursuing nuclear weapons and aims to establish a conventional missile shield to protect its nuclear program. He also alleged that President Donald Trump has targeted Iran’s military capabilities, inflicting significant damage on the country’s defensive capacities. These assertions come even as American bases in the region continue to be targets of precise missile and drone attacks by Iran’s armed forces.

The U.S. Secretary of State admitted that Iran still possesses missile and drone capabilities, but claimed that Tehran “has lost its conventional defensive shield.” He also suggested that Iran is now more prepared for an agreement on its nuclear program and straits, alleging that “America is negotiating with Tehran from a position of strength.” This statement stands in contrast to the reality that the management of the Strait of Hormuz remains under Iran’s control, and the U.S. has been unable to alter this equation through military means or negotiations.

Rubio continued to assert that to compel Iran to change what he termed “expansionist behavior,” the cost of Tehran’s policies must be raised to an unsustainable level. He concluded by claiming that energy transfer flows will be reorganized in the future, reducing reliance on the Strait of Hormuz. This claim is made despite energy analysts stating that temporary routes can never be a reliable substitute for the Strait of Hormuz in energy transmission.
