Ceuta Crisis Claims 90 Lives as Migrant Arrivals Surge

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Cadena SER radio, citing informed sources, reported that the death toll of migrants attempting to enter Ceuta from Morocco has reached 90. The Spanish Ministry of the Interior had previously announced the discovery of 67 bodies on the shores of Ceuta amidst the border crisis with Morocco over the past few days. Some of these individuals died in a stampede while trying to reach a breakwater, while others drowned. Following the arrival of approximately 60,000 migrants who crossed the border into this small, Spanish-enclosed territory between Thursday and Friday, Spain announced it was constructing a 500-meter containment barrier along the breakwater extending towards the sea. Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Albares, had previously emphasized that virtually all individuals who entered Ceuta have been returned to Morocco, adding that over 48,000 individuals who had entered from the North African country have been repatriated.
