Political Analyst: Trump’s Threats Against Iran Lose Impact as Tehran Pursues Parallel Paths

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, political analyst Mohamed El-Sharkawy, an expert in international conflict resolution, has assessed the effectiveness of U.S. military threats against Iran. Based on data published by Mehr News Agency, citing Al Jazeera, El-Sharkawy noted that the recurrence of these threats has diminished their political and psychological influence, prompting Tehran to concurrently pursue military escalation and the negotiation process.

He added that Washington continues to oscillate between employing military pressure and moving towards a political solution, indicating a failure to fully transition from a military pressure strategy to one focused on political agreement.

El-Sharkawy emphasized that the continuous reiteration of military threats without practical action gradually erodes their deterrent power. This has led Iran to conclude that it must prepare simultaneously for scenarios of increased conflict and ongoing negotiations.

Furthermore, he cautioned about the economic repercussions of intensified tensions, stating that the ongoing confrontation between Tehran and Washington could impact the global oil market and economy. Any instability in the region, he explained, would affect energy security and oil transit routes.
