US Envoy Urges Accord on Peace Process for Lebanon and Israel

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon, Michel Issa, stated that the current negotiations between Israel and Lebanon in Rome have encouraged him. However, he stressed that both sides must reach an agreement on a defined process before moving forward.

Issa highlighted that substantial technical work remains to be completed, and a rushed approach could jeopardize the security of civilians. He elaborated, “There is a significant difference between drafting an agreement on paper and its responsible implementation. Acting too quickly carries the risk of endangering the lives of the very civilians this process is intended to protect.”

He further added, “We believe it is better to take the necessary time from the outset to do this job correctly. Doing so will allow subsequent pilot phases to proceed more effectively.”

These statements from the U.S. Ambassador and the ongoing negotiation process occur while the Israeli regime continues its violations of the ceasefire in southern Lebanon.
