Hamas Political Chief Discusses Palestinian Issues with Iranian President

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Hamas announced on Monday that Khaled Meshaal, the newly elected head of the movement’s political bureau, received a phone call from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. The two leaders reviewed the latest developments concerning the Palestinian issue, as well as the current situation in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
President Pezeshkian began the call by commemorating the late commander Ismail Haniyeh on the second anniversary of his martyrdom. He reaffirmed Iran’s support for the Palestinian people, their rights, and their just cause, emphasizing that Iran stands with them and supports all their actions despite ongoing aggressions. Pezeshkian also congratulated Meshaal on his election as the head of Hamas’s political bureau, expressing pride in the direct and continuous communication.
Furthermore, Pezeshkian underscored the importance of consensus and coordination among all components of the Islamic nation, particularly on the Palestinian issue. Khaled Meshaal, in turn, expressed his appreciation for the Iranian President’s call and Iran’s consistent stance in supporting the Palestinian people and their enduring rights. He briefed Pezeshkian on the latest political developments in the negotiation process, as well as the field and political conditions in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and Jerusalem.
The new Hamas political chief stressed the Palestinian people’s commitment to their full rights and their utilization of all legitimate means to achieve them. He also honored the martyrs who have fallen since the start of “Al-Aqsa Flood” in their quest for the freedom of Palestine and Al-Aqsa. Meshaal thanked Iran for its unwavering support for the Palestinian people and expressed hope that aggression against the Islamic Republic would cease, leading to the return of security and stability to the entire region.
He further emphasized the significance of Islamic nation unity as a fundamental path toward achieving strength and reclaiming the rights of the Palestinian people.
