Pakistan Suicide Bombing Death Toll Rises to 16

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the number of fatalities from a suicide bombing in Pakistan has risen to 16. Based on data published by the Mehr News Agency, citing Anadolu Agency, a Pakistani official announced on Monday that the death toll from the suicide bombing outside a police station in northwestern Pakistan has increased to 16.

Zulfiqar Hameed, the police chief of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, told reporters that the bombing took place on Sunday in the city of Kabal, located in the Swat Valley of the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The incident occurred when a lone suicide bomber, attempting to enter the police station, was intercepted by police personnel and detonated his explosives.

He added that seven police officers were among those killed and that 21 others were injured in the bombing. Northwestern and southwestern regions of Pakistan have witnessed an escalation in militant attacks in recent years, with Islamabad attributing responsibility to militants based in Afghanistan affiliated with the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan. Kabul denies these accusations.
