Trump Dismisses Polls as Fake Amidst Declining Public Support for Iran Conflict
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, President Donald Trump has voiced strong criticism of public opinion polls in the United States, dismissing them as fabricated and claiming his approval ratings are exceptionally robust. In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump stated, “My real poll numbers, not the fake news media’s manufactured numbers, are the best they have ever been.”
The President attributed this perceived strength to his administration’s policies, citing significant tax cuts, unprecedented job growth, substantial foreign investment, secure borders, a perceived success in Venezuela, and the denuclearization of Iran, which he highlighted alongside a general increase in global respect for the United States. He urged voters to disregard what he termed “radical left fake polls,” characterizing them and “country-destroying Democrats” as corrupt and deceitful, and called for votes for Republicans to “Make America Great.”
Trump’s assertions come as recent polling data suggests a decline in public backing for the United States’ actions concerning Iran. A Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted on July 31 indicated that only one-third of Americans support the military engagement, marking the lowest level of support since the conflict began. This decline in support appears to transcend partisan lines.
A separate Quinnipiac University poll revealed that 60 percent of voters now oppose U.S. military action in Iran. Among independent voters surveyed in the Reuters/Ipsos poll, 67 percent expressed opposition to the conflict, with only a quarter indicating support.
Furthermore, a recent CNN poll indicated that two-thirds of Americans (67 percent) believe President Trump’s military decisions in the conflict against Iran have harmed the United States. Only 21 percent of respondents in that survey stated that Trump’s military actions have benefited the country.
