Gaza Peace Council Meets Netanyahu, Discusses Disarmament

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the group referred to as the “Gaza Peace Council” announced on Monday that it held discussions with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his accompanying team within the framework of what they described as “the process of disarming the Gaza Strip and preparing for the transition to civilian rule.” The report is based on data published by Mehr News Agency, citing Al Jazeera.

The council claimed that the withdrawal of Israeli forces to behind the “Green Line” will only occur after the complete disarmament process in the Gaza Strip is finalized. The Gaza Peace Council further asserted that the objective of this process is clear and non-negotiable: the full disarmament and a transition from armed governance to civilian rule.

According to the statement, the disarmament process is said to encompass light weapons, heavy weapons, and the tunnels present in the Gaza Strip. The council added that the implementation of disarmament would be overseen by the “International Stabilization Force” and the “Agreement Implementation Verification Committee.”

Concluding its statement, the Gaza Peace Council emphasized that the full progress of the agreement is contingent upon all parties adhering to their commitments within the agreed-upon framework.
