Russian and Qatari Foreign Ministers Discuss Persian Gulf Developments

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani held a phone call on Tuesday to discuss the situation in West Asia, with a specific focus on the ongoing escalation of tensions in the Persian Gulf. The discussions were reported by the Mehr News Agency, citing Sputnik.

A statement released by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated that both sides emphasized the urgent need to halt conflicts and swiftly resume negotiations. They underscored the importance of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, signed between Tehran and Washington on June 17, as a basis for these discussions.
