US Announces Resumption of Lebanon-Israel Talks Amid Escalating Tensions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a U.S. State Department official announced on Wednesday that the current round of talks in Rome between Lebanon and the Israeli regime concluded early this morning due to developments on the ground. The official claimed to Al Jazeera that the discussions were constructive and yielded progress, asserting that the negotiations would resume on Thursday.

This statement from the U.S. State Department official regarding the continuation of consultations between Beirut and Tel Aviv comes just hours after the Israeli regime announced extensive attacks on southern Lebanon, alleging a ceasefire violation by Hezbollah. In a statement, the Israeli regime’s army claimed that in response to Hezbollah’s alleged violation, the Israeli army had commenced heavy assaults on southern Lebanon.

Simultaneously, an Al Mayadeen correspondent reported a drone attack on the prayer area of the town of Tebnine in southern Lebanon, resulting in several injuries. The latest round of discussions between Lebanon and the Israeli regime had commenced in Rome, Italy, on Tuesday, despite repeated ceasefire violations by Tel Aviv.
