Trump Vows Severe Penalties for Whistleblowers Amid Ammunition Concerns
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that the United States possesses substantial ammunition reserves, particularly specific types of munitions. These remarks follow disclosures by prominent American media outlets alleging a shortage of certain offensive and interceptor missiles within the U.S. arsenal, citing the conflict with Iran as a major contributing factor and a potential security crisis.
Trump asserted that significant quantities of ammunition have been produced and dispatched to the U.S. as needed, without specifying production timelines for many American missiles, including the THAAD and Patriot interceptor systems. He added that defense companies are actively working to establish a historic number of manufacturing plants and production facilities across the country.
Dismissing the principle of freedom of the press, the President explicitly declared that Washington has initiated the pursuit of whistleblowers publishing what he termed “treasonous statements” and vowed to seek long-term imprisonment for them. This stance comes as CBS News, citing two informed sources, reported that the United States has consumed nearly its entire global stockpile of long-range precision missiles, particularly all ATACMS missiles, during the conflict with Iran.
The American network, quoting U.S. officials, highlighted that the current primary concern revolves around the number of interceptor missiles for the Patriot and THAAD systems, as their consumption rate outpaces the American industry’s capacity for replacement or new production. CNN had previously reported, also citing informed sources, that the U.S. military has expended approximately 80 percent of its THAAD missile defense system reserves and nearly half of its Patriot missiles since the onset of hostilities with Iran. The report also indicated that U.S. forces have used roughly half of their Tomahawk cruise missile reserves in the same conflict.
CNN further cited its sources stating that senior U.S. military commanders have warned of critically low ammunition reserves within the Department of Defense, making this a significant concern for the Pentagon.
