Argentine Protesters Lower US Flag Amid Demonstrations Against President Milei’s Reforms
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Argentine protesters lowered the U.S. flag during a rally against the proposed ‘private property immunity’ bill by President Javier Milei. Milei, known in his country as the ‘Trump of Argentina‘ for his far-right views similar to the U.S. President and his ties to the Zionist regime, faces widespread opposition to his reform agenda.
Thousands gathered in the Argentine capital to protest the controversial property bill proposed by the government of Javier Milei. The demonstration occurred outside the Congress building as the bill was being reviewed in the Senate.
Labor unions, social organizations, and opposition groups argue that the bill is designed to benefit large investors. They contend it will reduce legal protections for land and accelerate eviction processes, adversely affecting vulnerable populations.
Police deployed tear gas to disperse protesters near the Congress building.
The government had previously removed a contentious section of the bill concerning foreign ownership of rural land. However, the revised proposal still includes provisions for expedited property evictions and changes to laws governing expropriation and seizure of property.
