US Firefighting Helicopter Crashes in Utah During Blaze Suppression
A Sikorsky S-64 firefighting helicopter crashed in Utah on Wednesday while battling a massive wildfire, leaving the condition of its two crew members unknown amid challenging access to the crash site.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a firefighting helicopter crashed in Utah, United States, while attempting to contain a wildfire. The incident was reported by USA Today, citing Mehr News Agency data.
American officials stated that accessing the accident site has been difficult due to the expanding wildfire in the region, and the status of the two occupants remains unconfirmed. The helicopter was identified as a Sikorsky S-64 and crashed near Richfield, Utah, an area currently impacted by the “Widemouth 2” fire.
The “Widemouth 2” wildfire began in central Utah on July 27 and has so far consumed over 106,000 acres. The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed that the aircraft carried two crew members.
