Thousands Protest Against Friedrich Merz Government in Germany

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, citing data published by Mehr News Agency via Deutschlandfunk, around 10,000 people gathered in the German city of Plauen to protest against Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s administration. The demonstrators called for early elections, lower electricity and gas tariffs, and the deportation of all illegal immigrants and those who have committed offenses.

Among their demands, the protesters urged the resignation of the current cabinet, the organization of new elections, a reduction in electricity and gas levies, and reforms to the public media system. They also advocated for the immediate expulsion of individuals they described as “convicted, criminal, and illegal” immigrants.

The organizers promoted the demonstration nationwide, registering the participation of approximately 10,000 individuals. A spokesperson for the German police confirmed that the event had proceeded without any incidents.

Recent opinion polls indicate that 85 percent of Germans are dissatisfied with Merz’s performance.
