Hezbollah Denounces Israeli Environmental ‘Genocide’ in Southern Lebanon

Hezbollah has condemned what it described as environmental genocide by Israeli forces in southern Lebanon, accusing the Israeli army of deliberately burning forests and destroying infrastructure, including ancient olive trees.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Hezbollah stated on Sunday that the Israeli army has set fire to areas in southern Lebanon, a move it characterized as a continuation of destruction policies aimed at rendering these regions uninhabitable. The Lebanese resistance movement asserted that the Israeli actions, which have turned forest areas into scorched land, constitute urban genocide, infrastructure destruction, and the theft of ancient olive trees.

Hezbollah highlighted that this environmental genocide is occurring while Lebanese authorities are reportedly unable to file complaints or lawsuits against Israel. The movement suggested that commitments made by Lebanese officials not to pursue international legal action have granted Israel immunity, emboldening it to continue its alleged criminal actions with impunity.

The statement further indicated that these developments expose how Lebanese authorities manage their negotiations, the dangerous concessions they have made, and their absolute incompetence in protecting Lebanon’s interests and disregarding its fundamental rights. Hezbollah concluded by urging the Lebanese government, the Ministry of Environment, and all relevant bodies to raise their voices and take action to halt these Israeli aggressions against the environment, following previous alleged crimes against civilians and infrastructure.
