U.S. War Secretary Threatens Military Action Against Cuba

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. War Secretary Pete Hegset has threatened Cuba, declaring that all options, including the use of military tools, are on the table for confronting Havana. Hegset made these remarks during a press conference held concurrently with the “American Continent Coalition for Fighting Cartels and Smuggling Gangs” meeting in Panama. He claimed that Washington is working to strengthen its close security cooperation with key regional countries, specifically mentioning Panama and Ecuador, particularly in security matters and the fight against drug trafficking gangs.

The American official asserted that the United States views itself as the “premier partner” of Latin American nations. Simultaneously, he criticized the activities of rival international powers such as China, Russia, and Iran, alleging that their actions in South America are “based on exploitation.”

Hegset referenced a previous U.S. military operation on January 3rd, which he claimed led to the abduction of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, and their transfer to U.S. soil. He stated that Russian-made air defense systems completely failed in protecting Caracas, Venezuela’s capital. He added that Cuban security elements were also unable to provide adequate protection for Maduro.

Hegset issued a warning to the Cuban government, urging Havana to take U.S. President Donald Trump’s demands seriously. He claimed that the Cuban army cannot contend with the military power and authority of the United States.
