Iran and Iraq Discuss Erbil Attacks Amid Regional Tensions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Minister Fouad Hussein engaged in a phone call with his Iranian counterpart, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, to address the attack on the residence of the Kurdistan Region’s government chief. The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that previous Iranian attacks on the Kurdistan Region were often justified by claims of the presence of Iranian opposition parties or groups within the region.
During the conversation, the Iranian Foreign Minister stated that he possessed no information indicating the attacks against Erbil originated from within Iran. The Iraqi Foreign Minister underscored that this attack constitutes a dangerous escalation of tensions, carrying negative consequences for the security of Iraq and the wider region.
