Russia and Ukraine Exchange 206 Prisoners with UAE Mediation

Russia’s Ministry of Defense announced the successful completion of a prisoner exchange with Ukraine, facilitated by the United Arab Emirates, resulting in the release of 103 Russian military personnel for 103 Ukrainian servicemen.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia‘s Ministry of Defense has reported the successful completion of a prisoner exchange operation with Ukraine, with mediation efforts undertaken by the United Arab Emirates. This significant exchange saw 103 Russian military personnel swapped for 103 Ukrainian servicemen.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the operation was conducted successfully, attributing its achievement to the humanitarian mediation efforts of the UAE. These efforts were crucial in facilitating the agreement and the subsequent release of the prisoners.

Following their release, the Russian military personnel are currently located in Belarus. Russia’s Human Rights Commissioner, Tatyana Moskalkova, is overseeing their reception and ensuring their immediate welfare. After receiving necessary medical attention and initial psychological support, the freed servicemen will be transported back to Russian territory.

Once in Russia, they will continue their treatment and rehabilitation processes at specialized medical facilities affiliated with the Russian Ministry of Defense.
