Palestinian Groups Condemn Israeli Attacks on Gaza Police and Intensified West Bank Violence

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Khalil al-Hayya, head of Hamas’s political bureau, has strongly condemned the Israeli regime’s “deliberate killing” of senior police commanders in Gaza, which occurred today. Al-Hayya stated that these continuous crimes confirm the occupation’s adherence to its policies and disregard for mediation efforts and guarantees. He emphasized that these actions place mediators and ceasefire guarantors in a critical position to compel the occupation to cease its attacks and prevent the collapse of the truce.
Mustafa Barghouti, Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Initiative, issued a statement detailing the current situation in Palestine and stressing the necessity for global action. He asserted that the successive killings by Israel in Gaza, coupled with intensified settler attacks in the West Bank under the Israeli army’s protection, demonstrate the Israeli regime’s insistence on genocidal war and ethnic cleansing, constituting a clear defiance of international law. Barghouti added that the continuation of these crimes amid the silence and inability of the international community is a direct insult to it and the Security Council, which he believes has lost significant credibility. He also recalled that the escalation of settler aggressions and terrorism necessitates immediate and effective international, Arab, and Islamic action, urging against complacency with mere condemnation statements. He called on Arab and Islamic nations and the global community to intervene urgently to restrain the Israeli regime, halt the genocidal war, and provide protection for the Palestinian people.
The Palestinian Ahrar Movement also strongly condemned the “brutal crime” committed by the Israeli army on Wednesday against the Gaza police headquarters. In a statement, the movement emphasized that this act clearly indicates the Israeli enemy’s disregard for the ceasefire and its undermining of efforts related to de-escalation, mediators, and guarantors. The statement further indicated that the escalation of the Israeli enemy’s aggressions against Gaza police officers and personnel, along with the ongoing killing of Palestinians, reflects Prime Minister Netanyahu’s continued exploitation of Palestinian lives for his political and electoral aims, disregarding civilian casualties and de-escalation efforts. The movement held international forums, mediators, and guarantors responsible for the continuation of these aggressions and demanded their immediate and effective action to halt the obstructionism of the occupying entity and to prosecute and punish the leaders in Tel Aviv, breaking their shameful silence that provides a protective umbrella for Netanyahu and his cabinet to continue their aggressions against the Palestinian people.
