US Aims to Block Palestinian President Abbas from UN General Assembly

This plan was reported by the Israeli media outlet The Jerusalem Post, citing data published by the Mehr News Agency.
An informed source told The Jerusalem Post that the United States aims to prevent the Palestinian Authority president from traveling to New York in September to deliver a speech at the UN General Assembly. The source indicated that Palestinian Authority officials are actively seeking all possible avenues to dissuade Washington from this decision.
Mahmoud Abbas has also reportedly appealed to Turkey for assistance in altering the United States’ stance.
