Hezbollah Leader States Restraint Does Not Signify Weakness Amidst Israeli Tensions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Mahmoud Qamati, a member of Hezbollah‘s political council, stated that the group has not entirely severed direct communication channels with the Americans and that any decision regarding this matter will be based on the organization’s interests and prevailing conditions. In a televised interview, Qamati elaborated that the resistance has opted for patience, affording the current political process an opportunity to achieve the complete liberation of Lebanese territories and ensure the withdrawal of occupying forces from Lebanon. He reiterated that the resistance remains strong and capable, clarifying that a lack of immediate response to any aggression should not be interpreted as a sign of weakness or inability. He warned that any Israeli effort to advance or occupy new territories or positions would be met with a proportional response from the resistance, tailored to the evolving circumstances on the ground. Regarding the Al-Taher hills, Qamati confirmed that the resistance’s current stance involves steadfastness, confrontation, and the evaluation of all available options pertinent to this issue. He unequivocally denied the presence of any Iranian forces within the ranks of the resistance in southern Lebanon. Qamati stressed that linking the liberation of Lebanese land to the issue of resistance weapons constitutes a dangerous path that infringes upon Lebanon’s sovereignty and rights. He further asserted that sanctions, blockades, and financial pressures will never compel Hezbollah to abandon its resistance efforts or its popular base. Qamati indicated that Hezbollah will undertake actions within its capacity to address matters of housing, repair, reconstruction, and support for affected families. He noted that the option of popular mobilization and public demonstrations remains a possibility, contingent upon the opportune moment and specific political and security conditions. He also highlighted Ansar Allah in Yemen’s declaration of readiness to close the Bab el-Mandeb strait should the resistance and its people in Lebanon face a blockade, offering to place the key to this strait in the hands of the resistance. The Hezbollah political council member also emphasized the commitment to coexistence and respect for all Lebanese communities, including Sunni, Shia, Druze, Christian, and others, affirming that Hezbollah does not categorize any individual as first, second, or third class.
