Hezbollah Denounces US Sanctions as Criminal and Imperialistic

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Islamic Resistance movement Hezbollah in Lebanon has strongly reacted to the hostile action by the U.S. Treasury Department in imposing new sanctions against the movement. Hezbollah stated that the U.S. government’s claim that Hezbollah is under the control of Iran’s IRGC Quds Force is a pretext for relisting Hezbollah among sanctioned entities. This action is part of the U.S. government’s policies to target, besiege, and pressure the resistance, its social base, and its supporters.

Hezbollah added that the new U.S. sanctions are aimed at protecting the security of the enemy, consolidating occupation in southern Lebanon, and paving the way for the implementation of its expansionist projects. This measure confirms that the U.S. administration, accustomed to using sanctions to impose its dominance, continues to deal with Lebanon from a position of guardianship. The U.S. government is attempting to besiege the Lebanese people, deprive Lebanon of its sources of power, and strive to create internal unrest.

In another part of its statement, Hezbollah emphasized its pride in and cherishing of its close and fraternal relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, noting that Iran has stood by and supported Lebanon at every juncture.

The movement pointed out that the United States government, given its bloody and criminal record, has no right to classify others or issue certificates of patriotism for them.

In conclusion, the statement from the Lebanese Islamic Resistance asserted that the unjust sanctions and listings will not deter the movement from adhering to its chosen path of commitment to resistance and the pursuit of Lebanese rights to defend their land, sovereignty, and resources.
