US Public Opinion Against War with Iran Hits New Low

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Reuters reports that a new survey conducted by the news agency and Ipsos indicates that public support in the United States for engaging in war with Iran has reached its lowest level since the early days of the conflict. This trend has contributed to the sustained, unprecedentedly low popularity of U.S. President Donald Trump.

The poll, which spanned four days, found that only 31 percent of Americans currently support military action against Iran.

This figure represents a decline from 37 percent in the Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted in March and 34 percent earlier this month in June.

Results from the survey suggest that the decrease in public backing is primarily attributed to a decline in support among Republicans for the war.

Approximately 69 percent of Republican respondents continue to favor the war, a decrease from 77 percent in March.
