Steven Fagin Returns to Baghdad as New U.S. Chargé d’Affaires in Iraq

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Steven Fagin has been appointed as the new Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Iraq. Iraq News reported on its X account that Fagin is returning to Baghdad to lead the U.S. delegation, with expectations that his primary role will center on American economic and investment relations.

Prior to his return, Fagin held meetings with the American Business Council in Iraq, including Steve Lutz, the Vice President, and executives from companies such as General Electric, Vernova, BP, and Baker Hughes. Previously, Fagin served as the Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. He will be taking over from Joshua Harris, whose term as Chargé d’Affaires is coming to an end.
