Strait of Hormuz Closure Tied Solely to Iran’s Will, Says Senior Lawmaker

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Ibrahim Azizi, Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, has emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz remains sealed without the volition of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Azizi commented on the current regional dynamics and the United States’ efforts to reopen the crucial maritime passage.

He asserted that adversaries who once operated freely in the region have now retreated to a distance of five hundred miles, lamenting their past presence. Azizi noted that these actors resort to malicious actions precisely because they are unable to unilaterally open the Strait of Hormuz.

The chairman further elaborated that the enemy has sustained the most severe blows from the very points they have targeted, a reality they are acutely aware of. This situation demonstrates that the Islamic Republic of Iran is effectively showcasing its capability to validate threats to the American forces.

Azizi reiterated the long-standing position of Iran: “We have repeatedly stressed that the Strait of Hormuz will not open without the will of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and this matter is entirely evident.”
