Palestinians Detained Amidst Settler Attacks in West Bank
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli occupation forces have detained at least three Palestinians and issued demolition orders for two residential homes during raids in the West Bank. These events are part of a broader escalation of settler violence and Israeli military actions across Palestinian territories.
In occupied Jerusalem, dozens of Israeli settlers, under the protection of the occupying Israeli police, desecrated the Bab al-Rahma cemetery adjacent to the eastern wall of Al-Aqsa Mosque. Ahead of what is termed the ‘Hebrew New Year,’ they performed Talmudic rituals by blowing horns beside Muslim graves. Settlers also attacked a water well belonging to residents in Bir al-Muskوب, east of occupied Jerusalem.
The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that one person was injured by occupation forces’ gunfire in the city of Al-Bireh. The army also caused a Palestinian vehicle to overturn by shooting at it in the same city. Two Palestinians sustained fractures and injuries on the road between Ramallah and Jericho following an attack by settlers. Settlers also fired at Palestinians on a farm east of Al-Mughayyir while attempting to attack a chicken coop in the village. In the Al-Auja waterfalls area, north of Jericho, Palestinian Red Crescent relief teams encountered two individuals who had been severely beaten by settlers.
In Jenin Governorate, settlers raised flags of the Israeli regime atop a two-story house under construction in the western part of Dier Abu Da’if village. The house belongs to a Palestinian who received a demolition notice approximately four days prior. Hatem Rajabeh, a member of the Dier Abu Da’if village council, told the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) that the house is located on a mountain facing the settlement of Janim. He noted that about 14 other houses in the area have also received stop-work orders.
In the village of Beita, south of Nablus, Israeli settlers, supported by occupation soldiers, attacked Palestinian homes in the Al-Thahra and Sahal al-Harrah al-Tahta areas, stealing several sheep. The human rights organization Al-Bider reported that a group of settlers entered a home in the Al-Sahal area of Beita village and attacked a Palestinian and his children, resulting in their injuries. Occupation forces also issued evacuation orders for two homes in the western part of Beita belonging to Basel Ibrahim Abdel Karim Daoud and Zakaria Daoud, giving them a 72-hour deadline.
Local Palestinian sources reported that occupation forces detained six Palestinians during a raid on the Al-Arroub camp, north of Hebron, and engaged in acts of vandalism within their homes. Occupation forces also detained a Palestinian and his nephew in the village of Baqa al-Sharqiyya, north of Tulkarm, after storming their home. Additionally, another young man was arrested after an incursion into a shop on Al-Maqata’a Street in the eastern part of the city.
In related developments, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club announced on Thursday that the Israeli army detained over 100 Palestinians from West Bank governorates over the past week, including children, women, released prisoners, and journalists. The organization noted that these detentions were accompanied by human rights violations, including ‘extrajudicial killings,’ field interrogations, beatings, torture, and threats against the detainees and their families.
