US Diesel Prices Hit Record High Amid Global Oil Surge

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, average diesel fuel prices in the United States reached $6.23 per gallon on Monday, marking a new all-time high. This escalation in fuel costs is largely attributed to increases in global oil markets, as reported by Anatolian Agency via Mehr News Agency.

Data released by the American Automobile Association (AAA) indicated that the national average diesel price hit $6.23 per gallon on Monday. The previous record, according to AAA, stood at $6.204 per gallon, set on September 13.

Diesel prices had already surpassed the $6 per gallon threshold for the first time last week and have continued their upward trajectory since then.

Concurrently, oil prices saw significant gains in trading on Monday. Brent crude oil rose by approximately 3% to $107.6 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil increased by 2.8% to $102.8 per barrel. Reuters reported that oil prices jumped due to disruptions affecting oil transit routes in the Persian Gulf and the Red Sea.
