Iraq and France Sign Six Cooperation Agreements in Paris

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaydi, during his visit to Paris, met with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace, where six memoranda of understanding were signed between Iraq and France. These agreements cover various fields including economic, defense, diplomatic, and transportation sectors, as reported by Iraqi sources via the Wafa News Agency.

The agreements signed are as follows:

1. A memorandum of cooperation between the Iraqi Ministry of Defense and Hermès Company concerning artificial intelligence and strategic collaboration in the field of air defense.
2. A memorandum of cooperation between the Iraqi Ministry of Defense and the French Ministry of Armed Forces for the supply of French military equipment to support the reconstruction and development of Iraq’s defense capabilities.
3. A memorandum of cooperation aimed at strengthening opportunities for youth, research, and innovation, signed between the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.
4. A memorandum of cooperation between the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its French counterpart to enhance collaboration with the French Development Agency (AFD).
5. A protocol of cooperation between the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity and TotalEnergies regarding a gas supply and sales contract.
6. A memorandum of cooperation in the field of civil aviation between the Iraqi and French Ministries of Transport.
