UK Labor Unions Label Israel ‘Genocidal Regime,’ Demand Sanctions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, British labor unions have called for solidarity with the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement, emphasizing the need for the UK government to utilize its international standing to end the war in Gaza and achieve a two-state solution. Reports from Al Jazeera, as cited by Mehr News Agency, indicate that union leaders acknowledged some “effective” measures taken by the UK government regarding illegal Israeli settlements but stressed the continued responsibility to address the demands of the Palestinian people.
Leaders from several unions implored the British government to use its global position to halt what they described as Israel’s “genocide” in Gaza and to facilitate a two-state resolution. They further advocated for the immediate and effective imposition of economic sanctions against Israel, including the confiscation of all Israeli assets within the UK, a complete halt to arms trade with the nation, and the termination of the UK-Israel trade agreement.
These unions underscored the imperative of isolating Israel, unequivocally referring to it as a “genocidal regime.”
