Cuba Asserts US Regime Change Plans in Havana Will Fail Amid Economic Pressure

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Cuba‘s Deputy Foreign Minister, Carlos Fernández de Cossío, announced that Washington’s initiatives to impose a change of sovereignty in Havana through escalating economic pressures will ultimately falter. He cautioned that this strategy is designed to push the population towards a humanitarian crisis and foster manufactured discontent against the government.

Fernández de Cossío highlighted that Cuba is actively implementing economic reforms that expand the roles of the market, the private sector, and investment opportunities, characterizing these as the most profound transformations since the 1960s. The Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized that the United States blockade directly impacts daily life, with many Cubans receiving only two to three hours of electricity daily and facing challenges with water, transportation, and hospital services.
