Senator Sanders Condemns US Funding of Israeli Actions in Gaza, Citing Public Outrage

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont has expressed significant public discontent over American funding for Israeli operations in Gaza. Sanders posted on the social media platform X, stating that the American populace is “sick and tired” of the U.S. financing what he termed Israel’s “genocide” in Gaza.
The senior American senator elaborated that President Donald Trump is currently pushing forward with this approach, utilizing taxpayer money to provide $2.8 billion worth of bombs to Prime Minister Netanyahu’s “extremist cabinet.” Sanders asserted that this situation is “unacceptable” and called for Congress to reject these agreements.
This development follows previous statements from Gregory Meeks, a Democratic Representative from New York and the ranking member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. Meeks had previously indicated his opposition to the proposed $2.8 billion bomb sale to Israel. The proposed deal reportedly includes 40,000 bombs, each weighing 1,000 pounds. The proposed bomb contract has raised concerns regarding the potential use of these munitions in densely populated areas of the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.
