Israeli Sentenced to 13.5 Years for Espionage on Behalf of Iran
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, based on data published by the Mehr News Agency and quoted by the Anadolu Agency, a court in the occupied territories has sentenced a resident of Petah Tikva to 13 and a half years in prison on charges of spying for Iran.
Israel‘s Channel 7 claimed that the Central District Court in the city of Lod issued the verdict for Alexander Granovsky, describing it as the heaviest penalty imposed to date in similar cases. Granovsky, who was arrested in 2024, was convicted of conducting security operations for an Iranian operative.
According to the alleged indictment, he communicated with the operative via Telegram, photographed electricity generation facilities, and the neighborhood where senior former regime official Benny Gantz resides, and sent the images to his contact. Zionist officials stated that Granovsky was prepared to carry out further missions.
