Brazilian President Lula da Silva Calls on Trump to Avoid Interfering in Brazil’s Elections
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva announced that he will urge U.S. President Donald Trump to refrain from interfering in Brazil’s elections. This statement was made in anticipation of their meeting at the United Nations General Assembly.
Previously, the Brazilian president had criticized Washington’s apparent disregard for international bodies. Da Silva suggested that Donald Trump, the President of the United States, aims to establish a new United Nations organization over which he would have sole control.
He further commented on Trump’s leadership style, stating, “Trump wants to run the world through Twitter. It’s strange. Every day he says something and the world reacts to it.”
The President of Brazil, defending multilateralism against what he described as the “law of the jungle” in global affairs, warned that the UN Charter is being eroded.
