Massive Smoke Plume Erupts Near Riyadh Airport Following Alleged Yemeni Strike

Thick black smoke was observed billowing near Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport on Saturday, with reports indicating explosions and damage to airport facilities, attributed by some sources to an attack by Yemeni armed forces.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, eyewitnesses reported seeing flames and a substantial column of black smoke near Riyadh’s airport on Saturday. Reuters reported that a plume of smoke rose from near King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. Simultaneously, some news sources reported hearing explosions in the vicinity of the airport.

Reuters published a photograph of smoke emanating from a fuel depot at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, which the news agency stated was targeted by Yemeni armed forces. These sources indicated a halt in flights at Riyadh International Airport. News sources reported fire originating from the northern side of the airport.

The sources announced that an attack was carried out by Yemeni armed forces. Some sources reported the destruction of a cargo building at Riyadh Airport and Aramco facilities in Riyadh. According to this report, a building belonging to logistics companies inside Riyadh Airport sustained extensive damage. Saudi officials have not yet responded to the incident.
