The number of fatalities from a blast at a Syrian army site in the Ayash area west of Deir ez-Zor has increased, according to reports from the region. The incident, which occurred at a weapons depot, resulted in multiple casualties among Syrian military personnel.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the number of casualties from a blast that occurred yesterday at one of the Syrian army’s positions in the Ayash region west of Deir ez-Zor has risen. This information was released by the Mehr News Agency, citing SANA.

The Syrian Ministry of Defense announced that 11 members of the ministry’s forces were killed in the explosion. Their funeral ceremonies were held today.

Yesterday, Syrian media outlets reported that the explosion took place in a weapons warehouse at a Syrian army site near the town of Ayash, triggering a series of subsequent explosions from the ammunition stored there.

According to the report, the widespread scattering of munitions and projectiles in the initial hours following the blast hindered access for rescue and firefighting teams to the scene. However, relevant forces commenced search operations after securing the area.
