Maritime traffic through the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz has significantly decreased, with only 12 cargo ships transiting over the weekend, a sharp drop from the 35 vessels recorded the previous week. This slowdown is attributed to increased tensions in the Persian Gulf stemming from United States actions against Iran.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, recent data published by Mehr News Agency, as reported by Reuters, indicates a substantial decline in maritime activity within the Strait of Hormuz. Over the past Saturday and Sunday, only 12 cargo ships navigated this critical waterway. This figure starkly contrasts with the 35 vessels that transited the strait during the preceding week.
The report highlights that the movement of vessels in the Strait of Hormuz has weakened considerably. This disruption is linked to alleged United States provocations against Iran and the resultant tension-building in the Persian Gulf region, which has persisted since the commencement of military actions against Iran.
