Trump Pledges to Replace Canada with Belarus for Potash Supply

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump declared on Monday via the social media platform Truth Social that the United States is actively working on a substantial agreement to procure potash from Belarus. Trump asserted that the prices would be “considerably lower” than those currently offered by Canada. This statement comes as the U.S. seeks to address domestic challenges following what the report describes as a costly engagement with Iran.

Trump’s confrontational rhetoric towards Ottawa has intensified recently, particularly after the United States reinstated tariffs on a range of Canadian goods as part of an escalating trade war. In response, Canada had previously announced its own imposition of heavy tariffs on imports from the United States.

Canadian officials had also stated that trade negotiations with the U.S. had failed. The U.S. administration has further indicated its intention to ban the entry of certain Canadian products into the country starting September 29.
