US Defense Secretary’s Poland Visit Postponed Amid Base Discussions
Poland’s Defense Minister has postponed his trip to the United States, initially scheduled to discuss the potential establishment of American military bases on Polish soil, following an urgent request from Washington.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Poland‘s Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday that the planned visit of its defense minister to the United States has been postponed. The discussions were intended to focus on the establishment of American military bases within Poland.
The Polish side confirmed that, at the urgent request of the U.S., the minister’s trip to the Pentagon will be rescheduled. Consultations are currently underway to determine a new date for the visit.
Poland initially proposed that the United States establish a permanent military base on its territory in early June. Subsequently, an American delegation recently visited Poland to assess potential locations for such a base.
