Swiss Foreign Minister Discusses Middle East Geopolitics with Iranian Counterpart

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis stated on X (formerly Twitter) that he met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in New York during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Cassis elaborated that the two officials engaged in extensive discussions about the geopolitical balance in the Middle East. He expressed Switzerland’s deep concern over escalating tensions and their potential impact on peace and security, emphasizing that regional stability is intrinsically linked to Switzerland’s own stability.

The Swiss Foreign Minister further outlined Switzerland’s clear priorities: preventing further escalation of tensions, maintaining open diplomatic channels, and pursuing negotiated solutions. Cassis affirmed Switzerland’s readiness to fulfill its mediating role in any beneficial capacity.
