Putin’s Special Envoy Heads to U.S. for Talks with Trump Administration

Kirill Dmitriev, the special envoy of the Russian President, has departed for the United States to conduct new negotiations with members of the Trump administration, as reported by Al Jazeera, citing sources familiar with the matter, which were then relayed by Reuters.

This development emerges just hours after Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov addressed the UN Security Council on Ukraine. Lavrov stated that meetings involving Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, described as envoys of President Trump, confirmed Washington’s desire to find a resolution to the Ukraine issue. He further asserted that Russia would not halt its special military operation in Ukraine, alleging that Europe desires a ceasefire to facilitate the supply of weapons to Kyiv.
Lavrov also declared that Russia is prepared for negotiations aimed at achieving a just peace in Ukraine. He contended that Europe’s pursuit of a ceasefire is solely intended to provide an opportunity for the Kyiv regime to rebuild its military capabilities.
