UK Police Await Counter-Terrorism Findings on RAF Fairford Incident

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, British police announced on Sunday that 85 homes have been evacuated following a security incident at RAF Fairford, with residents currently unable to return.

A statement from the UK police indicated that they are awaiting the outcomes of the ongoing counter-terrorism unit investigation into the incident at the RAF Fairford air base. The counter-terrorism police are conducting their inquiry and will later announce whether the event at the Fairford military base constituted a terrorist act.

This comes after the President of the United States, in response to the security incident near the US air base in the UK, claimed that the arrest operation in Britain was “extraordinary.” He stated, “Cooperation with Britain went excellently. We had them under surveillance. They intended to cause significant damage to our base, but cooperation with the British was fruitful and excellent. We had them under surveillance for a long time and finally apprehended them!”

Earlier, UK police had reported a security incident near the US air base in the Fairford area of the country.

British police further added that several individuals suspected of violating explosive materials regulations were arrested during the operation.

Amidst this, some media outlets have attempted to link the incident near the US air base in the UK to Tehran’s reaction to Washington’s provocations through a targeted and biased campaign.
