Slovak Prime Minister Rules Out Military Intervention in NATO-Russia Conflict

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has stated that his country will respect NATO’s Article 5 on collective defense but will not send its forces if a member of the alliance begins a war with Russia. He asserted that victory in such a conflict using conventional weapons would be impossible.

Fico further elaborated that a war with Russia could only conclude with nuclear strikes from both sides, after which the outcome would become irrelevant. As Prime Minister, he expressed his commitment to protecting Slovakia from such a scenario.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin had commented that increasing NATO military budgets would lead to an intensified arms race globally. Putin also stressed that Russia has no intention of undertaking military action against Europe, citing a lack of justification for such a move.
