Russian Citizens Back Putin’s Policies with United Russia Election Victory

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Dmitry Peskov announced that the victory of the United Russia party in the country’s State Duma elections demonstrates the unity of Russian citizens around President Vladimir Putin and confirms their support for his policies. Speaking on the election results, Peskov indicated that these outcomes reflect the cohesion of Russian society and citizens’ backing for the political direction championed by the country’s president.

The Russian State Duma elections took place from September 18 to 20, 2026. United Russia secured a decisive majority in the lower house of the Russian parliament, obtaining 349 out of a total of 450 seats. The Central Election Commission of Russia reported that the Communist Party followed with 37 seats, the Liberal Democratic Party with 23 seats, New People with 19 seats, and A Just Russia with 17 seats. The voter turnout was reported at 59.8 percent.
